So, my friend asked how Arterial strike feat from Song and Silence works with Wound points. Does it make wound damage? Most logical option but pretty overpowering I think to get that. One option to make would increase the sacrificed sneak damage to like +3d6 to get the effect.
How have you made the rulings? And what about the other feats and features which needs to get updated to VP/WP system like Diehard?

I dont remember what arterial strike does (and to lazy to look it up).

I have made an updated version of Diehard (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=455833) its designed to work with the system presented there which may be a bit non standard though.

Arterial strike reduces sneak attack damage to make a bleeding wound for 1hp/round until healed.

You could make it 1 wound damage/round but throw in a 10% for it to stop by itself.

Wouldn't it still be overpowered feat compared to others, by sacrificing d6 sneak damage you can make straight wound damage (= Fatigued, Chance to stun). With other "rogue" feats he could make 1 sneak attack / round if he succeeds in Bluff check!

Even with 10% chance to stop bleeding it's kinda powerful. But bleeding vitality points is just silly. What should be made, I don't like to say "you just can't take that". Some minor fix needed. Good idea though for the wound to seal up by itself.

this is one of the little thing i fixed with my modified wound system, under my system the 1 point of damage is stored in a damage pool until the pool reaches a fourth or more of the creatures wound threshold at which point it becomes a subdual wound

That sounds a little complicated. Unfortunately, the VP/WP system needs serious work to be fully integrated into the D&D game. Certain feats, such as Arterial Strike, are probably best not used with it.

VP loss is "near misses" and "scratches / grazes" -- no reason that a particularly well aimed scratch couldn't keep on bleeding (i.e. lose 1 VP/round). I have seen quite a few people complaining about how to fit VP/WP in, but really it's not too bad. I did it for an Orient Adventures game, and didn't encounter any issues. You just have to realize that Con dmg hurts even more than it does in a straight HP system.

Of course, the PCs were a bit leery of crits after a while ;)

Describign the situation, rogue using sneak attack and arterial strike...

"You see the rogue coming towards you and then quickly making false attack, followed by dagger strike aimed for your vital organs. He succeeds in scratching your belly and you start to bleed from the cut..."

Doesn't sound quite realistic... well... D&D realistic.

The wounding weapon enhancement used to do the same thing, but it was reduced to 1 con damage; in W/V system I think wounding and arterial strike should be changed to 1 wound damage.

Yeah, 3.5 basically changed Wound to doing 1 point of Con damage for Wounding weapons, which had the same mechanic in 3.0 as Arterial Strike.

So, if you wanted a 3.5 version of AS, thats what you would most likely use.
If you just really want to keep the 3.0 version and use a Wound/Vitality system, I'd put it straight to Wounds. They are, after all, actively bleeding to death because the rogue opened up a major artery. The Rogue, essentially, slashed their wrists.

Okay, I think I stick to 1 Con damage per succesful Arterial Strike. [-1 Fort save, -1 Maximum Wound point etc.], seems most balanced option.
