i just wanted to get a little input from people about the turn undead abilities for my campaign, i used some unearthed arcana rules and old 2e class construction for this.

in my campaigns, i don't allow for the turn undead ability, its too complicated and time consuming to figure when i don't use anything but skeletons and vampires as my undead monsters. so in their place paladins and clerics have different abilities.

clerics/priests have the ability to heal/harm by lay of hands like a paladin does, instead of their turning ability, which can be used to destroy undead by dealing positive energy damage by touch to an undead.

paladins in my game instead of their turn undead ability have access to their spells beginning at 1st level, they follow the regular cleric progression, save that they can go no higher than 4th level and can't learn 0th level spells.

so what do you think?? is this a fair trade off in my campaign without most undead.

p.s. i forgot to mention, i use the magical recharge variant and power components from unearthed arcana. :embarrass
