Does this mean the XP required to reach the next level doesn't change, since your character level doesn't increase? Does it also mean that bloodline levels don't count torwards feats and ability +1s? It seems to state that your character level is NOT rising, and these things are all determined by character level. This would prove to be very strange however, with the weird XP progression (Leveling at 1-1000, 2-3000, 2B-5000, 3-8000) Thanks. |
| DreadArchon01-15-07, 05:16 PM | The separation that D&D puts between Class Levels and Character Level is... strange. I think they should be completely separate, but clearly (level by level monster progression classes) the game prefers to slur them together. I rule that Bloodline levels increase your character level without increasing your hit dice, so they do give you feats, and ability +1's. Your DM may vary... |

I use bloodline levels for two of my homebrew races, and I've found that allowing ability rises and feats keeps players happy - nobody likes having a level where you have absolutely nothing new, and before I allowed them, players actively avoided the bloodline races. |
