In Unearthed Arcana under the red, gold, and silver dragons it says you get a breath weapon, and it even is nice enough to tell you what it does. However, it does not, as far as I can tell, tell you how often you can use it or what type of action it is. Am I right to think it is the same as a half-dragon?

That would make sense, and be appropriate. Especially since the half-dragon's breath weapon works like any other breath weapon.

Well, I meant that it was once a day. Not all breath weapons are the same really. Is this what you meant?

Yes, it would be once per day as a standard action, just like a half-dragon.

OK, thanks a lot for the help! It makes a lot a sense to use it like a half-dragon, and not a dragon like a friend said.

I would assume it worked as a dragons breath weapon. Once every 1d4 rounds. It is a dragon bloodline, not a half dragon bloodline. plus it only does 6d8 with a save for half. Its not like by level 18 this damage will be game breaking.

A dragon bloodline is less potent than a half-dragon. Half-dragon isn't diluted, bloodlines are.
