Just thougt I would throw this one out there...
Take for example a good character has the intermediate Devil bloodline, and seeks to turn away from his heritage. However, at 12th lvl, he gains the Smite Good ability. how would you guys veiw such an ability?

I would continue to give him bloodline abilities with the normal pros and cons.

But If the DM feels the Character have turned away from evil before 12th level he would simply not allow him to take more bloodline levels. This would normally give him a 20% xp penalty, but since he has struggled to become Good he shouldn't punish him for good roleplay, but let him keep his bloodline abilities and not gain any more, turning him in to a minor devil bloodline.
This keeps game balance and rewards the player by letting him being able to take another normal class level instead of a bloodline level.

Give him the ability, but make sure he knows that to use it is to give in to his evil side.

Temptation is awesome, especially if he's in a tough combat with someone he knows is good >=D
