I use Spell Point System 2 (#15 under Optional Rules) from Community 3e's site. It works for me and my players like it. It's used in a high magic campaign. There are also magic items that go along with this set of rules and an interesting skill called Runecraft by the same author found under Optional Rules. WoTC stresses the idea of changing the rules to suit your campaign, so be creative.
