How many rules would you have to tweak if a player wanted to gain angelic aspects? A cleric would probably be the best bet, but I was wondering what kind of aspects you people could come up with. I was thinking something along the lines of: Flight: the character grows a pair of white, feathery wings which allow them to fly at a speed of 40 feet (30 if carrying a medium or heavy load) Holy eyes: the character gains the glowing red eyes of a firre and once per round as a standard action can cause 2d6 fire damage on one oponent Weapon of the archons: one of the character's arms turns into a +1 flaming longsword or +1 holy longsword (character's choice) Holy defense: the character gains (not sure about this one, +2 natural armor, or damage reduction 5/evil, or fast healing 1, both all three?) Something like that, with the aspects lasting around 1/round a _____ level. Maybe activating these abilities could cost the expenditure of a turning attempt or two. Maybe a prestige class based around these abilities? Take a few things away from the paladin to give them access to these? What do you think? |

Alternatively you could be an Aasimar or Half-Celestial, or even an actual Celestial (= "Angel"). With the rules in Savage Species, you can start off as a level 1 Astral Deva if you want and progress in the race as you would in a normal class. Beyond that there are several good spells and prestige classes that simulate "angelic aspects", many good ones can be found in Defenders of the Faith (including Aspect of the Deity and Lesser Aspect of the Deity). Combine those with Alter Self (arcane spell) to grow yourself wings and you're good to go! |
