Class Based Defense? [Archive] - Wizards Community

02-23-04, 04:54 PM Yes and no. Yes they have it, no it doesn't measure up to Star Wars. The defense system was one of the main things I was initially excited about. Then I read it. If you multiclass you get the best defense bonus of the two. A 20th level sorcerer has a +8 defense. A 20th level fighter has a +12. A first level fighter/19th level sorcerer has a +12. That's like having a 1st level fighter/19th level sorcerer with a +20 base attack bonus.

02-23-04, 07:56 PM You could skim over D20 modern and Star Wars and concoct your own Defense system that makes more sense. But the one presented in Unearthed Arcana is a good place to get the juices flowing.
