Combined Gestalt Class Names [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-09-04, 05:53 PM Inspired by the Gestalt characters and some concepts from the PC game Heroes of Might and Magic IV, I had the idea to make class names for multiclass combos. For example, instead of Pal/Sor1, your character would be a Blood Knight 1. For one, this sounds cooler, and for two, it can make your level bar less confusing.

This system wouldn't work as well if you multiclass a lot (unless you want to generate more names), but our group imposes multi-class retrictions since as a Gestalt you can already cover multi-bases with no problem. Plus it keeps things a bit less confusing.

I have names for most classes but not all, and some of them are admittedly stupid. Please offer your suggestions for other names! I'd love to hear them.

Note: The list includes Nobles and Psions as potential core classes. It is an Excel spreadsheet since that is the easiest way to show it.

Yes, going crazy with multi classes is something watch out for. I am thinking of limiting it somehow, having one primary class that doesn't change and then the second.. column, for lack of a better term, could be altered to fit or something.

Anyway, that is a sidetrack and I don't want the thread going off topic. Your chart is a great one and I thank you for sharing!

03-09-04, 06:38 PM Fighter/Barbarian= Berserker. the name has rage, but sounds mroe fighterly.

Cleric/Bard= Liturgist

Barbarian/Psion = Wild Mind

Bard Durid.... i'm SO tempted to go with bard, since IIRC RL bards were druidlike. bard/druid= wayfarer? woodsinger? meh.

Bard/Ranger= Adventurer, or generalist. since it combines Fighter/Druid/rogue with rogu/Sorcerer/diplomat. urban wiht wilderness. or maybe Bounty Hunter... gather information + favored enemy. change ranger/rogue to "stalker"

Cleric/Psion = holy mind, pure mind, whole one= psionics depends on mind and body, clerisicm on the soul.

Cleric/Rogue = Inquisitor

Druid/Monk = naturalist. relies not on equipment, but natural magic and natural talents.

Druid/Psion= balanced one?

Monk/Noble.... Ise Zumi?

Wizard/Monk = Tai Chi master, or some other style which sounds all magical.

Noble/Paladin = Knight

Noble/Psion = Sir Psion. just kidding... i'd say just "psion" plus a noble title.

Psion/Ranger = mind tracker

psion/sorcerer = psychosorcerer????

psion/wizard = thaumentalist

Ranger/Wizard = hunter mage.

Rogue/Sorcerer = spelltheif, blood rogue, or wanderer???/

Rgr/Nob changed from Hunter Lord to Beastlord (sounds cooler)

I'd think Martial Artist would be better.

If I'm not mistaken Shinobi means warrior ninja, you have ninja covered with the monk/rogue.

Just a thought.

Monk/Noble could be just be Teacher in any oriental way of pronouncing it.

I kinda like Psiblade for Psion/Ranger gestalt.

Edit: I guess this is very similar to Baron Phylos' idea - I just like using the full names. ;)
