Just a few house rules i have come up with so far for when i run my eternal champion game using the new rules in the Star Wars Saga Edition rulebook. -Any item, spell, or affect that gives a bonus to one of the three defenses does not stack. it will replace your class bonus or ability modifier, whicherver you choose. Thus a character with a Dex of 20, a Con of 13, and a Wis of 16 wearing a Cloak of Resistance +3 would use his Dex bonus to his Ref Def, the +3 from the Cloak on his Fort Def, and could choose his Wisdom bonus or Resistance bonus for his Will def. -Rings of Protection now grant DR X/-, equal to thier rating number. Thus a Ring of Protection +2 grants a DR of 2/-. -Flat Footed: You no longer gain your shield bonus to Reflex defense while flat footed. If you have an item that grants you a bonus instead of your Dex modifier, you do not lose the item's modifier. (Such as the Cloak Of Resistance as mentioned above). -Any Kind of Natural Armor converts lethal damage into Nonlethal damage equal to the listed amount. Thus, a Dragon with a Natural Armor bonus of 10 will convert 10 points of lethal damage to non-lethal damage. An Amulet of Natural Armor +2 will convert 2 points of lethal damage to non-lethal damage. I don't think the SECR is using non-lethal damage, but I like it and I plan on using it, so this is my rule. :) -Assassin's Death Attack is now Death Strike. Anytime you catch your opponent flat footed, you can attempt a Death Strike. Make an attack: If the attack is successful, you may make a Death Strike check, if your check beats his Fort def, he is at -1 hp and dying. If you beat it by 10 or more, he is reduced to -10. To determine your Death Strike bonus: Assassin Level +5 (because you are trained) + Int Modifier + any other relevant modifiers. I wouldn't suggest adding the new Skill Focus feature to this; I kept the Ability Focus feature from the MM. Well, that's what I got so far.
