recently, a foolish npc in my campaign has open a break in the skein of reality, fortunately, it was repaired, but the daemons (and deities) on the world that was punctured are interested in going back. Therefore i have come up with a daemonic possesion system!

Possesion:If a character stays for too long in an area where the skin of reality is thin or where a ritual of breaking is taking place, they may find themselves subject to the foul attentions of daemons. After an hour in the area, the character will get strange whispers in his/her head, urging him/her to free them. 2d6 round later, the first possesion will happen. The character must succeed on a dc:20 will save or be possesed.
This will repeat itself every D6 rounds after, the DC increasing by one every time.A possed character is treated as if he had a dominate spell cast on him by the daemon. If a character is possesd for more than 42+4d6 hours, then a the daemon may try to use the victim's soul to give it the strength to break through. When this happens the affected charecter must make a will save or be affected in the same way as if s/he was subject to a blood magus bloodwalk(violent version) with the daemon emerging as opposed to a blood magus.

im working on a daemonic breach system aswell.please tell me what you think.

Daemons.

Now there's a term I haven't heard in a while. Are you aware that - pre-Planescape - "Daemon" was the term for the race of Neutral Evil creatues of the lower planes? Devils are the Lawful Evil version, Demons the Chaotic Evil. Following the release of Planescape these entities were renamed Yugoloths, Ba'atezu, and Tenari'i (spelling horribly butchered and names for the last two probably switched).

**looks around for Shemeska to set him straight**

Yes, i am aware that the daemons are un-re-named yugoloths(too many prefixes, perhaps) they are also the name of evil chaos creatures in warhammer, the soul creatures in his dark materials, and many others.I called them Daemons because it had more of an eldritch/arcane feel to demon. My breach system is nearing completion too, look out for the next lot of
oh and baatezu are devils, tanar'rii are demons and Daemons are yugoloths

breach:Some insane or perhaps desperate people try to rip open the (now) thin veil.If a character wishes to break open an area of veil, he/she must have atleast 5 others must join hands and say a special ritual requiring a DC 20 spellcraft check, DC25 religion check or a DC 35 concentration check. The persons maintaining the ritual must remain linked for 10 rounds after.

the foci: A focus is a living person, either the ritual leader or a captured sacrifice. on the 10th round when the ritual is complete, the foci dies, he/she is either sacrificed or consumed by the daemons waiting to break through.

The breach: A breach is an area, 10ft wide for every sacrifice. All daemons on the daemonside are accutely aware of the breach and are attracted to the area. Without a map of the area, assume 2d6 daemons are near, and 1 arrives each turn.It appears as a crackling circle.Anyone looking into it takes 1d4 points of wisdom damage unless they succeed on a DC30 reflex save to avert his/her eyes before serious mental damage takes hold.

again, any comments are appreciated! :schemes:

Try looking at the rules for possession in the Eberron Campaign Book. They may be of some help to you.

DC 15? So a 1st level mage can do it by taking 10? Way to go.

Sarcasm is a wonderful thing. It makes you laugh at things you'd otherwise hate.
