Simply you feel the feat is worth it.

I have since 3.5 came out, I haven't seen anybody use a metamagic feat, because it wasn't worth it, but daily use makes it worth it...

players must be warned : it raises the power of wizards (and magic in general) in the campaign.

and metamagic feats become a no-brainer choice ! they're so good this way no spellcaster would live without them :D
