Dealing with Psionics here [Archive] - Wizards Community

06-18-05, 03:37 AM OK, i KNOW im dealing with psionics here, but i figured there are enough psionic players out there to help me out. It's basicly a rouge variant on the Soul Knife...
the old PC use to give sneak attack, i have an old 3.0 character that had that pc, and i was wondering if anybody thought that changing out the soul knife's 3.5 psychic strike ability for full sneak attack was too powerful. I dont think so...psychic strike deals 5d8 (5-40) damage by 20th, but to more things than sneak attack 10d6 (10-60) cant affect creaturs immune to crits...
any thoughts....plz :confused:

06-18-05, 04:58 AM I think you need to design a Feat that would allow the Soulknife to do this, and the Feat should only be available at third level, when you get Psychic Strike. Learn to use Sneak attack then, or never.

06-18-05, 10:18 AM I believe it is too powerfull. Maybe that ninja abilitie that doesn't work while flanking would be better

06-19-05, 06:01 PM Simply trade each die of psychic strike for sneak attack. As a DM, I'd rather just use the updated PrC or use the new base class and try to reason with the player why sneak attack became psychic strike.
