I shouldn't have to ask this, but I want to feel absolutely positive on this point. The Defense Bonus and Bracers of Armor do not stack, since Bracers of Armor are considered to provide an Armor Bonus, despite the fact that they are not actual armor. The first few sentences on page 109 after "Class Defense Bonus" mention that "A character wearing armor gains its armor bonus (including any enhancement to that bonus) or his defense bonus - whichever is higher - but not both." It seems really silly to spend 64,000 gp on Bracers of Armor +8 when my character is a 3rd level cleric with a defense bonus of +7 under the former circumstances. And unfortunately playing a cleric/mage/mystic theurge, there is a conflict of interest between using an Amulet of Natural Armor or a Periapt of Wisdom. I already have a Ring of Protection +5.
