In my campaign, we're using the Destruction of the Undead variant from Complete Divine. A question has been raised, however, on how the Greater Turning ability from the Sun domain works. I'd like to avoid going back to the standard rules of determining which undead are 'turned' and which aren't, but I'm unsure how to alter Greater Turning. Any suggestions?

My suggestion would be using Greater Turning results in Maximum Damage.

I agree.

By default turning rules you only destroy undead affected by your "turning damage" if your cleric level is more than twice their hit die. With Destruction of the Undead, there is no hit die distinction between "turned" and "destroyed" and "turning damage" really is damage - positive energy damage.

The Sun Domain's granted ability simply allows you to destroy all undead you would normally simply turn - it doesn't allow you to affect more undead (ie Widened Destruction), or more powerful undead (ie Empowered Destruction). However, Maximised Destruction is a good analog to Greater Turning, and it fits nicely with the flavour of the domain.
