After reading the artical Beyond blood in dragon 323 Sept 2004, I got to thinking why couldn't a sorcerer cast divine instead of arcana spells. The breed of sorcerer could have been an experiment with infusing humans with divine energy, or many they were the chosen of a deity and enhanced with a bit of there divine essence. Any suggestions on how to handle this maybe just let them select spells from the cleric list or maybe translate the divine spells to the arcana list so there not as strong as clerics but also don't have to have a given alignment. Any thoughts.

There is a sponaneous divine spellcaster in a Dragon Magazine(can't remember exactly)that had some variant cleric classes, one of which was the Evangelist. Had the same spell list as the cleric but restricted to spells known like the sorcerer. I hope this helps.

Thanks it helps
But does any one happen to know the issue or be willing to post the class if open content.

Check Complete Divine. There is a spontaneous cleric (Favored Soul) and a spontaneous druid (Spirit Shaman).

It makes more sense than an arcane sorceror I would think.

Why? I think the idea of a magic-infused person is as viable as a divinity-infused person. Maybe in your whacked out campaign, but don't force those ideas on others without labeling them as opinion. In fact...you know, just label the entire world Opinion.

Look in the Dragon lance campain setting, the Mystic is what your looking for. :)

The mystic looks cool ,but sucks when you look at the numbers.

Favored soul is MUCH better.

Favored Soul in my option after reveiwing it isn't balanced when compared to the other core classes sorry thought I must agree it's cool and would make a nice prestiage class. I don't have Dragonlance any where else I can find it.

Complete Divine. It's rather sick (knows more spells than a sorc, retains cleric's core mechanics with ALL good saves, and gains energy resistance, damage reduction, and can become WINGEEED.)

It's more powerful than the sorcerer , but then again the sorcerer bites when compared to the other core classes!

Just compare a Favored Soul to a cleric , which has Turn undead and crazy domains like magic or time to the favored soul.
The divine feats are among the best ones in the game , and the FS can't access them.
The point is that almost all of the FS abilties can be mimicked easily by spells/items.
If you want to take the mystic , go on :it's just the worst class ever seen ,even the healer is better
