02-20-04, 01:04 PM Maybe I am missing the info but I can't find where it says how often or times a player that takes a dragon blood line gets to use their breath weapon. Can someone point me to the answer?

And is it possible for a half-dragon to possess the bloodline matching their dragon type? Thus creating a more draconic half-dragon.

02-20-04, 02:37 PM I would assume that since the Paragon 1/2 Dragon specifies 3/day at 3rd level, that the Dragon Bloodline would be once a day.

I wouldn't see why the half-dragon couldn't take a bloodline of his dragon type or even of a different dragon type, although that could get interesting :)

02-21-04, 12:47 AM The Half-dragon with blood line would be easy to think of (for me).
One parent has the bloodline, the other is the dragon.
That doesn't mean it wouldn't be odd though…

I'd say the breath weapon is 1/day though, all the other limited use abilities from blood lines are 1/day, so I'd imagine it would be the same.

02-21-04, 01:19 AM U don't get breath weapons only if ure a true half-dragon do u get that not if u just have there blood running through ure viens. U only get what is listed

02-21-04, 02:15 AM It is listed. If you've got a major draconic bloodline (gold, red, silver), you get a breath weapon attack at 16th level. I also figure it to be a 1/day affair, for what my 2xp are worth.

That being the case should the bloodlines be able to use their breath weapon once every 1d4 rounds?

Where does it refer back to the MM? I just gave the section on bloodlines a once-over and didn't see that.

And I'm far too tentative on this to be "insisting;" I'd call my activity "speculating" at this point. I just figure giving a character a breath weapon usable every d4 rounds is pretty powerful (heck, even half-dragons who have maxed out their paragon levels are still capped on a per-day basis). If you figure differently, go for it.

02-21-04, 11:22 PM Comparing the abilites of other bloodlines, the breath weapon is probably usable once per day. Other abilities at that level include feats, non-offensive spell-like abilities usable 1/day (or in some cases 1/week); making the breath weapon usable more than 1/day might be comparatively overpowering. I mean, the character's several generations removed from the dragon, whereas a half-dragon is a direct offspring, and yet the half-dragon can use the ability only 1/day.
