| Drazex04-19-07, 11:39 PM | feel free to comment on my house rules or to make suggestions. 1.) I allow no classes or races that are not found in the following books <unless I happen to have found it on WotC archives>: PHB MMII DMG MMIII MM MMIV Draconomicon Complete Arcane Complete Mage Complete Adventurer Races of the Dragon PHB II Savage Species 2.) Dm has final say, if I want to contradict or make a variant on a rule, I will 3.) I reserve the right to smite any who annoy me with my very own "meddling overdeity". 4.) sundering body parts--> repealed for disturbing its own author (me) 5.) ties in opposed skill checks go to the person making the check to notice the other's action or to see through the other's action 6.) once a monster is seen or noticed, init order starts immediately. Therefore, you cannot say "I move up to the monster" and then say you were there when your first turn of the battle starts. |

| RobbyPants04-20-07, 08:56 AM | 3.) I reserve the right to smite any who annoy me with my very own "meddling overdeity". As a general rule, I'd say that out-of-game problems need to be dealt with out-of-game, and likewise, in-game problems should be dealt with in-game. Hopefully, no smiting will be necessary ;) 4.) I occasionally use a variant crit system adapted from a ADnD expansion. The only problem I have with this is the word "occasionally". The players are likely to get mad if you arbitrarily switch between systems. I'd do an all-or-nothing apporoach (either use the system or don't, or at least have clear cut rules for when you do and when you don't). The other two seem fine and quite straight forward. |

Have some sense, whether it was used or not would depend on the campaign, anyway, I have decided to use the effects of the variant system for the sundering rules [above] |
| bobothechimp04-21-07, 08:20 PM | Sundering is overpowered, by this system. It gives no penalty for attempting a sunder every attack. |
| Drazex04-21-07, 08:51 PM | Sundering is overpowered, by this system. It gives no penalty for attempting a sunder every attack. you still incur the normal penalties for sundering, as well as the body parts have extra AC for being smaller and more mobile parts of the whole. |
| bobothechimp04-21-07, 11:26 PM | That would be the case, but with your system and the Improved Sunder feat, there is not really any penalty. If you miss the higher AC it's still a normal hit, so that it's just a normal attack that gets a chance of doing even better. The only penalty is the opposed roll, which I would think only could apply to attacks against an arm or other appendage that can be used for attacking. This opposed roll would even be at a -4 penalty for the defender, because natural weapons and unarmed strikes are light weapons. |
