Now as much as I like the Druid concept, I haven't been able to bring myself to play one because WIldshape just requires so much outside legwork, and I'm not that familair with the MM.

So when I saw the Aspects of Nature, I rejoiced. Finally: ease-of-use druids!

However, I have two questions for you all about this really cool variant: How does this stack up, powerwise, against normal Wildshape? I'm just vaguly curious as to whether it makes the Druid underpowered or just balanced.
Why oh why is it only 1 minute per level? What's wrong with 1 hour / level? The aspects are really cool, but none of them do anything thats any better than the normal wildshape.

The aspects select a single feature of a wild shape form. That is to say that they grant the main reason you might select a particular form.

At the same time, you can continue to speak with your comrades, handle items with your hands, and your equipement does not merge with your form (and thus remains usable).

On the downside, an aspect druid cannot disquise herself as a harmless animal, nor sneak about as a small (or tiny) animal, and the aspects are of limited duration.

Now, the tactics for using them differ somewhat, so naturally one will be better at certain times than the other. However, an aspect druid is reasonably ballanced against a wildshape druid, overall.

PS: The Complete Divine includes a set of Wild Feats which allow a wildshape druid to, basically, add an aspect to their repetoire. [They are similar, but not quite identical.]

CD also has the Spirit Shaman, which uses the druid spell list but doesn't have any of that messy Wild Shape ... I'm pretty sure it lags behind the druid in raw power, but whoopty-:censored:. :)
