| Viper322003-14-06, 08:17 PM | I got a question to ask that may or may not have been asked already. Is there a way to figure out what progression the Defense Bonus will take in epic? If there is a way, is it balanced (I'm thinking it'd be underbalanced mind you) |
| AT-AT Assault03-14-06, 09:44 PM | It should be as simple as continuing the pattern of the defense bonuses. Actually doing it that way would make it eventually become unbalanced(overpowered). Perhaps every level you gain an Epic BAB increase your Def bonus increases by 1. |

If you're using the patterns established on p110 of the UA they go up 1 every 3 levels. If you increase it on the odd levels like the Epic BAB does, you're actually increasing the Defense Bonus. Instead of going up 1/3 it is going up 1/2. Increasing it 1/2 will probably end up giving ACs that are hard for enemies to hit in the long run, since you'll also have to take into account the PCs AC will be increasing from other sources as well (magic armor enhancement, shield enhancement, attributes increasing, etc). It is something you'll need to playtest and tweak as necessary, but I'd probably start with continuing the table on p110. |
