I allow sorcerors to forgo their familiar in exchange for the optional replacements that a specialist wizard can select. A plurality of their spells must be from the school that they take the variant option of. They cannot in any way gain access to the special abilities that a wizard can take in place of extra spells or metamagic feats.

The party's cleric is complaining, because he believes that the ability to command undead is his territory. He'd be okay with a wizard that has a skeletal familiar, because the RAW and classes make necromancy a little more for wizards than sorcerors.

Seem fair/unfair to you guys? Why?

I wouldn't give the sorcerer one of the specialist wizards replacement abilities for the familiar, simply because it gives the sorcerer to much of bad wizard clone feeling, instead I would allow him to replace the familiar option with the feat Eschew Materials, because after all spell casting comes natural to the sorcerer and eschew materials eliminates the need for most spell components, which enhances the natural spell caster feel the sorcerer should have. and if you are feeling generous you might also give the sorcerer the feat Alertness, as that is the most usful feature of a familiar anyway.
Simply stay away from making the Sorcerer a bad wizard clone, if you are gonna mess with basic classes...

I personally uses the following option for Sorcerer:
1.
They lose the Summon familiar Class Ability. Why would a worldly person run around with a bloody pet, when he is charismatic enough to pet people?
2.
They gain the Eschew Materials Feat at 1st level. Spellcasting comes naturally to them, and if they had to mess around with materials to cast their first spell, they properly wouldn’t have discovered their spellcasting abilities.
3.
They gain (4 + Int modifier) x 4 Skill Points at 1st level, and (4 + Int modifier) Skill Points at each additional level. Their form of Spellcasting doesn’t benefit from a high Intelligence Score, but they are almost as worldly as a Bard, so they pick up knowledge here and there.
4.
They add Diplomacy (Cha), Gather Information (Cha), Knowledge (Local) (Int), and Use Magic Device (Cha) to their Class Skills. Their Worldliness gets them in contact with many different people, and they are very likely to use the trial and error approach when dealing with ways to enhance their spellcasting abilities.
