I'm thinking that subsequent to his resurrection (and associated loss of level) he's going to favor that particular enemy even more. I'm thinking of granting him a slight additional bonus to his Favored Enemy bonuses. Actually, since it was a Blue dragon, perhaps the extra bonus will only apply to Blues. Yeah, I like that. Only for Blue dragons. Anyone have any thoughts on this? |

At 5th, 10th, 15th, and 20th they not only get a new favored enemy but an extra +2 to allocate to any of their favored enemies. So at 20th your elf ranger could have +10 v dragons and +2 v 4 other enemies. If you want a little more, how about a feat. Say : Draconic disgust : +1 to damage rolls against dragons and a +1 to the skills Intimidate, Spot, Listen, Sense Motive, and Survival when interacting with dragons or creatures with the dragon subtype. |

I'd say: Improved Favored Enemy(General) Prereq: Favored enemy class feature Benefit: When he takes this feat, the ranger chooses one type of favored enemy he has. His bonuses from the favored enemy class feature against that creature type are increased by an additional +2. |

Each time you choose a different favored enemy. edit : mine was an attempt at a general feat for any class, anyone who hated dragons, or insert any monster |
| Patrick_H01-18-07, 03:36 PM | So, if I follow you correctly, the ranger in question would take it once for Blue dragons, again for Red, yet again for Green, etc. Is that the idea? If so, then that's pretty much what I had in mind. The only thing is, in this case he's not actually taking the feat. He's being granted (given) it as a consequence of having been killed by a favored enemy (and subsequently resurrected.) |
| ZombieDragon01-18-07, 04:03 PM | The improved favored enemy I would only allow once per group (dragons, giants, aberrations, etc) or you would have monster slayer rangers with +12 - +24 damage against the said monster at 20th level. My general feat could be worded to be any group of monsters. Examples ; say giant grudge, construct contempt, or humanoid hostility. If you wanted it to be a single monster say Blue Dragon (blue dragon bitterness) I would up the ante and place it as +1 to hit +2 damage and +2 to the skills. Due to the fact the individual monster will be a rarer occurrence. Again only taken once per individual monster. |
