They are intended to allow heroes to get alternate access to some prestige classes (via Blossomed Training). The feats can also aid those heroes that desperately try to have a good save, base attack, or other progression. Aberrant Training You spend part of your spare time studying the skills and mannerisms of another class. Prerequisite: --- Benefit: Chose a core class, this class becomes the focus of your Aberrant Training. Pick one class skill from your Aberrant Training focus class, that skill is considered a class skill for you. Imitative Training You acquire a small subset of the characteristics of another class. Prerequisite: Aberrant Training Benefit: When you acquire this feat you may pick one specific characteristic of your Aberrant Training focus class and apply it instead of the characteristic of the class you gain this level. The characteristics you may chose one of are: Base attack bonus, number of skill points gained, hit dice gained, fortitude save progression, reflex save progression, or will save progression. The characteristic is chosen as a level one characteristic. Thus, for example, if you have Aberrant Training (Barbarian) and you gain Imitative Training you could chose to gain the barbarian's first level +1 base attack bonus, or +2 to fortitude saves, or gain d12 hit points. Special: You do not gain maximum hit points if you chose to gain the Aberrant Training's focus class hit dice, instead you gain hit points as if you had leveled into the Aberrant Training focus class. Blossomed Training Your steadfast training allows you to master the basic abilities of another class. Prerequisite: Aberrant Training, Imitative Training Benefit: When you acquire this feat you additionally gain all level 1 class features of your Aberrant Training's focus class. For example, if you have Aberrant Training (Paladin) and you gain Blossomed Training then you additionally gain aura of good, detect evil, and smite 1/day. Depending on your Aberrant Training focus class you acquire class feats, spells, martial abilities, psionic abilities, etc as if you had gained a level in the appropriate class. Seasoned Training You have become accustomed to compliment your normal training regimen with that of another class. Prerequisite: Aberrant Training, Imitative Training, Blossomed Training Benefit: Whenever you acquire a new level you additionally gain the effect of Imitative Training, in other words: Each time you level you may apply your Aberrant Training's focus class base attack, skill point progression, fortitude save progression, reflex save progression, will save progression, or hit dice progression. The benefit in each case is relative to the level you have obtained. Thus if you acquired Seasoned Training at level 9 then at level 9, 10, 11, etc you may use your Aberrant Training's focus class will save progression for level 9, 10, 11, etc instead of the progression of the class that you level in. You are not required to make use of the same characteristic at each level, for example, you may chose to gain the base attack bonus at one level, and skill point progression at the next. ... Thus, in summary: Aberrant Training: Gain a new class skill Imitative Training: Once-off bonus to a particular characteristic (typically equivalent to feats like Iron Will) Blossomed Training: gain basic class abilities (including spells, maneuvers, etc) of a class Seasoned Training: Each time you level replace one of the characteristics with an alternate class's characteristics (base attack, one of the saves, hit dice, skill points) |
