The campaign that I play in uses the generic classes from UA (p76). We are about to start exploring another part of the world were 'mind-powers' will be common and I would like to create a psionic character but I can't find anything anywhere about a generic psionic class similar to the generic spellcaster on p77 of UA.
Does an official 'generic psionic class' exist and if so where can I find it?
If a generic psionic class doesn't exist how should I go about creating one?
This is what I've come up with on the fly:
The generic spellcaster in UA (p77) has fewer spells per day than a full blown sorcerer but has the bonus feat progression of a wizard. I think something similar would work for a generic psionic class but I don't think you can really mess with a psion's power points per day, powers known or max power level known without seriously weakening the class.
I was considering using the Wilder's progression for power points per day, powers known and max power level known but doubling the powers known at each level and using the Psion's feat progression. This seems to be the best compromise between the Psion and the Wilder and in line with the precedent set in UA with the generic spellcaster.
I haven't had time to actually sit down and do a full write up for this but I will as soon as I get some feedback on the direction I'm taking. Unless there is an 'official' generic psionicist class somewhere that I missed in three hours of searching and one non-answer from customer service.
Of course, if I don't like the 'official' version I will still do it myself.

My idea: take the psion, take away their discipline, cut their powers known to 1/level (like a psychic warrior), allow them to access all powers from psion/wilder, psychic warrior, and discipline lists, and then make their manifesting based off of a choice of int, wis, or cha and allow them to pick which save is good and which two are poor. Class skills are concentration, craft, knowledge (psionics), psicraft, profession, and four other skills of choice. (Knowledge (psionics) can be upgraded to Knowledge (all skillls, taken individually) in exchange for three "skill slots")

I think the powers-known is too strong of a nerf. If anything, one less power known at first level, but no change to powers learned at higher levels. You may concider dropping the power points per day at higher levels, but I don't think it's an issue. Use the skills from the spellcaster class.
