I'm confused about spellcasting in general with the Generic characters. If spellcasting is done like a sorcerer, then
metamagic feats take a turn and Quicken Spell does not work.
Also, if you can use spells from any list what about the few spells that are different levels on different lists?
I myself think that it should be done in this way
for Arcane SC use either the Bard or Wizard/sorcerer list
for an Divine SC use either the Cleric or Druid list. This will give back flavor I find lacking in these two classes . Otherwise why have a Arcane /Divine seperation?

If you use one of the alternate metamagic systems in UA then the generic spellcasters will do fine.

The spells of different level (such as Hold Person- 2nd level Clr, 3rd level Wiz) are up to the character. The spell's DC is dependent upon spell level, so the 3rd level Hold Person is harder to save against, but you get it a level later.

Notice only the Cleric, Druid and Sorc./Wiz spell lists are available.

The only Divine/ Arcane seperation is the use of scrolls and the prerequisites for feats like Familiar and Turn Undead.
