Since you do not go up in your arcane and divine spellcasting at the same time, can you take geomancer with a gestalt character?

I would say so by the rules as written.

In theory yes. But, I don't see why you'd want to, its caster levels will not stack with your wizard/cleric caster levels (redundant class features accrue at the fastest rate, they don't add to each other).

I have a house rule in my gestalt campaign regarding prestige classes. For each PrC, I calculate the lowest level you could possibly be to enter the class in the normal game. That level becomes a prereq in the gestalt game.

Technically, you could take effective wizard levels with the geomancer casting feature along with cleric levels (or vice versa).

Actually, it is going to be:
1 Druid1/Sor 1
2 Druid2/Sor 2
3 Druid3/Sor 3
4 Druid4/Sor 4
5 Druid5/Sor 5
6 Druid6/Geo 1
7 Druid7/Geo 2
8 Druid8/Geo 3
9 Druid9/Geo 4
10 Druid10/Geo 5
11 Druid11/Geo 6
12 Druid12/Geo 7
13 Druid13/Geo 8
14 Druid14/Geo 9
15 Druid15/Geo 10
16 Druid16/ArcMage 1
17 Druid17/ArcMage 2
18 Druid18/ArcMage 3
19 Druid19/ArcMage 4
20 Druid20/ArcMage 5

I am going to choose to go up in Sorcerer spellcasting for every level of Geomancer.

This sounds like a Munchkin's Dream come true.

This sounds like a Munchkin's Dream come true.Considering the poster's name, did you really expect otherwise? :D

Anyway, I must admit that I like the build. It makes good use of gestault rules, and by choosing Sor rather than Wiz it makes a certain degree of sense (although archmage might be a little difficult to reconcile). The back story for the character is likely quite interesting. At least, I hope it is quite interesting. Such an interesting character build deserves a just as interesting backstory. As a 20th level NPC this character could be quite useful - a challenge for those anti-nature inclined or an invaluable aid for those whose quest aligns with the NPC's values and alignment.

BTW, what is the AL of this character? CN due to drifts? ;)

She is a neutral good Dwarf. She was raised on the elemental plane of wood by a Dryad sorceress. She is new to the prime material plane and is the ultimate enviromentalist. If you even look at a tree wrong you will be sorry.

neutral good? then drop Archmage and take Sentinel of Bharrai : it's a PrC made for nature-protecting arcane spellcaster...

what book is this PrC in and can you give me an idea of the type of abilities it gives?

Doesn't the Geomancer require you to have arcane and divine spellcasting ability? My ruling would be that any PrC that's balanced by requiring you to lose levels in spellcasting by taking some other class is out. If you want to take it, then it would require revision of some sort.

With the gestalt variant you can take Geomancer earlier. What is wrong with that?

Sentinel of Bharrai is from BoED.
It' gives nifty abilities like (sp) Call Lightning (Storm later) and you can freely choose that your spells don't hurt plants in the Area of effect.
It has full spellcasting progression ,too.

I would believe that you could take Geomancer as part of a Gestalt combo, since it only gives you ten total caster levels which you must devote to one class each (not ten Arcane and ten Divine like the Mystic Theurge). But, like they said, a neutral good ecomaniac should consider the Book of Exalted Deeds and some of its PrC instead of Archmage.

Doesn't the Geomancer require you to alternate caster levels? I though it advanced your divine caster levels at odd levels and your arcane casting at even. If this was the case, I'd make you alternate your other classes to gain the full caster benefits (If you were to advance druid every level, sorcerer to level 5, and geomancer to 5 as a 10th level gestalt, you cast spells as a 10th level druid, 7th level sorcerer, and have the abilities of a 10th level druid, 5th level geomancer and a 5th level sorcerer.)

The Geomancer doesn't require alternating caster levels; it allows either but encourages straight arcane.

I believe you're thinking of the epic mystic theurge, which is why I'd never take epic levels in that class. (With one out of six levels a bonus feat, you might as well trade off levels of cleric and wizard, or find an epic only spellcasting class.)

I was just thinking about a gestalt sorcerer/druid today. I like your build, it gives me something to look at when starting mine.

I don't have the epic level handbook, and I've only flipped through it once, and not the section on epic prestige class progressions, so there is no way I could have confused anything with the epic mystic theurge. I was refering to the geomancer from masters of the wild. Granted I don't actually have it, but I have looked through it one more than one occasion, and I have read the geomancer prestige class. The one with the prerequisite in both arcane and divine spellcasting, and slowly combines them together, until at the very end you might have a cleric/sorcerer casting spells delayed blast fireball in full field plate. Unless, of course, I'm confusing it with a different prestige class out of that book.

I was just guessing, after three years in our current campaign I think I have Epic levels on the brain even though they're a ways off.

You've got the right PrC in mind, other than it doesn't require alternating Caster Levels. The spellcasting in armor and creating weird looking PCs through drift are the fun of the class. :) (I also really like the background flavor this class adds to the magic elements of a game. Ley lines are a favorite plot device of mine, although I change them a bit for use outside this class.)
