| SirisC03-06-04, 12:12 AM | anyone considered how many feats you could have by being human and taking fighter and psychic warrior as a gesalt character? 20 bonus feats isnt it? |
| strenoth03-06-04, 02:03 AM | you'd get 20 bonus feats. Plus 8 any-feats |
| Centurion_stalker03-06-04, 11:02 PM | consider this. gestalt human fighter/rogue variant. the rogue variant from the UA book allows for you to forsake sneak attack and get fighter bonus feats. Add in the other rogue abilities and that's a deadly combo. :-D a lv. 10 fighter/rogue variant human gets 17 feats. 17 feats. |
| Tzepish03-07-04, 01:18 AM | 17 feats. |
| SirisC03-07-04, 01:32 AM | that is even better, 29 feats by level 20. |
| Dartanel03-07-04, 03:04 AM | Yeah, but after your second weapon focus I think you'd begin to appreciate the extra list provided by psi warrior more then the extra feats provided by the rogue varient. Now, if you want to truly go overboard, make this a Vow of Poverty staff master gestalt. What would that be? 11 Fighter 7 Psi Warr 11 Exalted 6 normal and the two you spent on Sacred vow and VoP 37 feats. :) |
| JoAT03-07-04, 04:47 AM | If you switch out the last 6 levels of Psi Warrior for 3 levels of Wonder Worker and 3 levels of Sword of Rightousness, you could stack another 4 Exalted feats on top of that, though 2 of your other feats would have to be Exalted too... Makes your list: 11 Fighter 5 Psi Warr 16 Exalted 6 normal and the two for Sacred Vow and VoP, plus one for Chosen of the_______ Makes for 41 feats... |

| TerrickTerran03-07-04, 01:42 PM | I dunno if there are 16 exalted feats most non spellcasters could take. But there are a lot of nasty things you could do. |
| flyingmoose03-07-04, 03:07 PM | Q. How many feats does a gestalt fighter have? A. All of 'em. |
| helicopter03-08-04, 03:23 AM | Primary spellcaster's spell levels scale higher and faster in power than feats. That's why the more martial based Gestalt characters (i.e. Fighter/Barb and Fighter/PsyWarrior) don't impress me as much as say a Wizard/Ranger, which gets 9th level "I win this encounter" spells like Gate, Shapechange, etc. ... along with BAB +20, +6 Skill Ranks per Round, and a bunch of feats & class abilities to boot. |
| ikki03-08-04, 04:08 AM | then consider the Efreti 19/wizard 20/xx 1 for BAB +20 10d4+10d8 HD and some nice ability bonuses.. or a Astraldeva-wiz bab+20 12d8 +8d4 plenty of various abilities, immunities, teleporting flying bladebarrier etc ;) stats S+12(20) D+8(6) C+8(10) I+8 W+8 Ch+10 .. and these can be made even more fun with purchased templates ;) |
| Greyman03-08-04, 05:14 AM | Originally posted by SirisC anyone considered how many feats you could have by being human and taking fighter and psychic warrior as a gesalt character? 20 bonus feats isnt it?Uhm, no. If you gestalt classes with the same feature, then they do not stack; you only use the faster progression. In this case, you get bonus feats at the same rate as a Fighter, but they can be selected from Fighter and Psionic feats. Likewise with Fighter/Wizard gestalts. |

Likewise with Fighter/Wizard gestalts. but it specifically says you get specials from both classes, but with your reasoning it would mean you can only get 1 bonus feat per level, so where bonus feats do not overlap they are not lost. I really like the idea of being able to take psionic feats with your fighter bonus feats. |
| Krelios03-08-04, 09:37 AM | Uhm, no. If you gestalt classes with the same feature, then they do not stack; you only use the faster progression. In this case, you get bonus feats at the same rate as a Fighter, but they can be selected from Fighter and Psionic feats. Except that bonus feats aren't a "feature" like sneak attack or evasion. You would indeed get all those bonus feats. Unfortunately, since the list is specific on which bonus feats you can take, it doesn't do you much good to have that many. Hooray, I have weapon focus in eleven different weapons! I gave up spellcasting, or sneak attack, or useful skill progressions for that! |
| strenoth03-08-04, 03:23 PM | givent hat the psy-warrior has access to psi-feats as bonus feats, there's no reason to even spend his feats normal feats. to may other goodies to focus on. |
| MoonHawk03-09-04, 11:03 AM | I agree. The psi-warrior could easily spend all of his feats on cool psionic feats and not spend any on fighter stuff, and just use all of the fighter feats for that. Great idea! And I also agree that bonus feats are under the "special" column, so this build gets both. (as if that wasn't obvious from the first part) |
| Nuclear_Cheetos03-17-04, 12:10 PM | There's a level 15 Fighter/Rogue variant in my campaign, we're level 15, guess what weapon he uses... niahc dekips Read it backwards. Yeah he's combat control like you wouldn't believe. At 15 he's got the following: Cleave, Combat Brute, Combat Expertise, Combat Reflexes, Defensive Throw, Dodge, Exotic: Fullblade, Exotic: Spiked Chain, Great Cleave, guildmaster, improved grapple, improved sunder, improved trip, improved unarmed strike, jotunbrud (not sure I like that one), karmic strike, leadership, live my nightmare, mage slayer, mobility, opportunist (rogue sp), power attack, sidestep, urban tracking, monkey grip, and finally spring attack and whirlwind attack. He seems to be having a lot of fun. Also, he took two flaws, and used a Rogue SP for a bonus feat instead. However I feel bad seeing as he's still using a MW spiked chain, I really don't roll that weapon often on treasure charts, if at all. |
| stone_dog03-17-04, 12:59 PM | I just wouldn't have the rogue varient feats stack with the fighter feats. They are basically the same class feature after all and the fighter has a better progression. Again with the Psychic warrior. I would give him fighter feat progression, but the selection of feats of a Psychic Warrior so he would have the best of both worlds. Of course if you are having fun that way and the other players don't mind then that is completely different. |
