Ok, we will be starting a gesault campaing with three players relatively soon. (I'm Dming) We alrey have a Monk/Fighter (human) that might go into Initiate of the Staff. (A custom prc focusing on the quarterstaff.) He will be, quite simply death walking. Secondly, we have a Rogue/Cleric(Human or Dwarven most likely), a very utility charector and I have no idea on what he will multiclass as, maby shadowdancer.

Now, however we get to a question, The third party Member will be an Elven Ranger/_____. He is going to multyiclass into skylord as soon as possible. We just don't know what his other class should be. The paty dosen't have arcane casting, but keeping track of spells isn't something the player wants to do. Rogue and ranger blend well, but there alredy is a rogue. Druid could be cool, but no longbow(and there are spells). Elves are not allowed to become Monks, i'm not allowing it. Bard is just ehh, and dosen't really fit the charector. Fighters and Barbarians, I don't see the charector as the muscel bound raging brute type. I just don't see any class working...............

Any ideas? Or even ways to make a normall charector balance with gesalts?

Try a barbarian with the whirling frenzy alt. ability for the barbarian.

AND what wrong with a RAGING ELF!!!! That was my first character!! Sorry I like elfs and barbarians. They go well together.

Ranger/Sorcerer is a good combo. He doesn't need to worry about memorizing spells - he only thinks about them when he levels.

True Strike / stat-buffing spells could be what he centers on. At higher levels, haste/heroism, etc. plus dispel magic and fly.

Why in the name of the Mother of the Kiwi can't elves become monks?

Ranger/Druid.

Greater Magic Fang on your Giant Eagle Skymount, woo-hoo! Animal Growth! Entangle on the suckers on the ground!

Alternately, Ranger/Battle Sorcerer! Then, Skylord/Arcane Archer! (Yeah, you'll technically have to make a new PrC that blends the two, but that should not be too hard.)

Hmm...

I thought they could...

They can't because of a houserule. Elves just are not cool enough to be monks, and I don't consider it to be elve like.

Ranger/Druid.

No longbow.......

Ranger/Sorcerer

The player dosen't want to have to remember the spells. He considers it to much work.

RAGING ELF!!!!

Theres no problem with a raging elve, but it dosen't fit the ranger persona.

Thanks for your sugestions.

Druids aren't forbidden from using longbows, they just aren't proficient. I don't remember if this was true in 3.0. Or is the player just against longbows?

But if your player doesn't want to deal with spells, the point is moot.

How does he feel about 3.5 Psionics for the Psychic Warrior or Wilder?

Perhaps the Marshal (Miniature's Handbook).

Maybe Elf Paragon (UA) and levels of Half-Fiend, Half-Celestial, Half-Dragon from WotC website's Savage Progression's article (now retired) (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/archive.asp?x=dnd/sp,3).

Why do you keep saying ranger/druid... no long bow?
In 3.5 (which UA is) a druid multiclass can use a long bow.

I think I like your campaign already - as long as Dwarves can still be monks.

You've eliminated most options for the character already as far as base classes go... leaving the second class as a choice between Paladin or Fighter. (Incidentally, the character doesn't want any spells but he's playing a Ranger which is a class that gets spells?)

I'd think a Ranger/Paladin would be a good mix (if elves can be Paladins) - especially if his favoured enemies are evil so he can smite them.

So, since Druids are not allowed to use a Longbow (by your house rules), and he's not up to casting spells, and he can't rage, and there's already a Rogue in the party, the only choice left is Ranger/Fighter. Why you bothered us with this when it's the only choice you've left available is beyond me.

He'll certainly have a lot of skill points and a lot of feats.

A druid who wears prohibited armor or carries a prohibited shield is unable to cast druid spells or use any of her supernatural or spell-like class abilities while doing so and for 24 hours thereafter

I read this wrong at some point to think that it also included weapons not mentioned........

as long as Dwarves can still be monks.

Of course. :D

Don't have psionics handbook.

Thanks for your help everyone.
