I suppose this is now the right forum, but You're spamming the forums dude with the same question on multiple forums. Not really a good thing to do...just so you know.

I responded already in this thread

http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=492172

Anyways, in more response directly to your questions.

Only suggestion in UA is that you have it as everything is a gestalt character/NPC/ or Monster. For requirements that is...but I don't use them that way...I use them as an alternate method for characters to multiclass in.

1. NO.

2. Yes.

3. As you saw the suggestion above...that's the drawback. However, I'll quote what I wrote in the other thread...

I play and allow Gestalt characters in with normal characters if someone wants to do it BUT I also make it so that they will have to get double XP to get to the next level at EVERY level.

It actually balances it out overall, and keeps them about the right power level!!!

Perhaps a little less at the beginning, more even towards the higher levels, so many are discouraged after our first try of doing it that way of playing Gestalt...BUT that's what they get if they want to do multi-classing the Gestalt way with normal characters.

Double XP does keep the balance just about right for the Gestalt mix with normal characters, but that's a houserule on UA's set of houserules...but it is an experience of someone who's actually allowed that to occur in their games.

So if you do it that way with a normal campaign, the drawback would be that you are about 1 to 2 levels behind the other characters at first, and as much as 2 to 3 levels behind at the high levels. It keeps it even, but makes it so that one who is Gestalt will not gain their spell levels as quickly, or other bonuses in return for MC, and keeps them about the right power level in relation to everyone else.

PS: Stop spamming the forums with the same question.

to put thigns another way...

*YOU*, the player, donot get to choose a gestalt character. either the CAMPAIGN is gestalt, or it's not, and gestalt characters only go into campaigns for gestalt characters (sort of liek Star wars characters are in star wars games, super hero characters are in super hero games, etc.)

Gestalt is an optional RULE, nto a character type, for when a GM only has 1 or 2 players and needs to give the characters more flexibility in abilities.
