Mindolin 06-16-07, 12:34 AM	Okay, under the gestalt rules, it tells you to lower the challenge rating by 1 point, 2 if the monster requires a lot of saves for their special abilities. Does this apply to other gestalt characters as well, such as if I made a Wizard 5/Cleric 5, the overall CR would be 3? Or does the gestalt NPC keep a CR at their level?
tylara67 06-16-07, 01:22 AM	The reduction in CR is for NPC monsters with no class levels fighting gestalt PCs. Gestalt PCs typically have better saves than non-gestalt PCs of the same level, so a monster that depends on abilities that allow saves will be less dangerous. A gestalt NPC against gestalt PCs should keep his CR the same, as he's getting the same benefits they are. A gestalt NPC against non-gestalt PCs should have his CR increased, as he will be comparatively more powerful.
