| Selgard06-05-07, 11:58 AM | A recent thread (Gestalt's most broken combo's) has mentioned a couple of times that wiz20//f1/sorc19 would yield Full Bab. In the interest of not hIjacking that thread, i posit the question here. How do you get full bab from w20//f1/s19 Thanks. |
| Serrin06-05-07, 01:27 PM | Fighter 1 gives +1 BAB, so at your Fighter1/Wizard1 level, you get 1 BAB. Next level is wizard2/sorc1. Sorc1 doesn't give BAB, but wiz2 does. Thus, you get +1 BAB Level after that is Wiz3/Sorc2. Well, what do you know, Sorc gets +1 BAB this level, so you're now at 3 BAB at level 3. And at level 4, it's time for Wiz to give BAB again. |

I'm sorry, but that is completely and absolutely wrong. I had a PC try that one on me. Open up you (insert mass swearing here) Unearthed Arcana to page 72 "Base Attack Bonus: Choose the better PROGRESSION!!! from the two classes." Please READ first. The same thing for base saves, you use the better progression. Just because you people don't know how to read and use common sense doesn't mean that you get full base attack bonus because you stager sor/wiz. That build you talk of would have a BAB of +10 (sorc19 yields +9, and fighter1 yiels +1) so you still end up with the worse base attack. And sorry about flamage, I am just tired of people who intentionally misread rules just to make something more powerful. aka Ciccarelli syndrome, tried to do the same thing, and among other things, took 2 level of paladin to get divine graces, didn't act like a paladin at all, so within 2-3 sessions, his character fell (10 level gestalt). He was ******, I asked to see his sheets, he said no. I said "Don't come back." And my DnD games have been much more fun since. |
