| planeshifter0407-13-06, 07:17 PM | I have read the rules over and over again, but can't figure it out, so please give me some input, and opinions. I would like to gestalt two generic classes, together not with a standard class, I know that would be unbalancing, but what do we think of an expert/warrior or spellcaster/expert, I don't think it would be bad since they simply allow you to pick feats instead of class abilities you would normally recieve from two standard classes, but I just think you could really capture the pure customized class to play, in a game where customizing is a very big thing, so please give me some input on what you think. thank you |

It's not a way to make a customized class, but it's a kind of diffrent sort of gameplay and if one character in a group is gestalt normally all players are able to make gestalt chars... Sorry if I got you wrong, but it sounded as if you wanted to customize a new class using gestalt rulez to play it in a normal campain. |

The generic classes are built for multiclassing between themselves, so Gestalt-ing them should not be too big a deal. As with all Gestalt, you'd have to rescale the power level, but overall I think there is no bigger problem doing it on generic vs the more standard classes. Anyone with practical experience may have differing opinion tho.. |

You can choose your strong save(s) and class skills of each generic class, so why wouldn't you choose them in a way that there's no overlap? This is one of the limitation of generics with standard classes: you don't always get 3 good saves, and all the class skills you want. |
