I'll will be playing a gestalt game soon. Isthe monk/warlock a good mix? The eldritch blast seem to compensate for the lack of range attack of the monk and is a alternative to unarmed strike against monsters with DR. Hideous blast add puch to melee attacks.

So even if it looks alittle like DBZ, is it any good or just ordinary?

Thanks and forgive my french ;)

Hmm...lets see, a monk with a touch attack range of maybe 250ft, DR, limited fast healing, at will abilities like dimension door, spider climb, dispell magic, and invisibility. Oh, and did we mention Use Magic Device?

Yeah, probably a decent combo. Although, it's an odd combo because monks are lawful and warlocks are usually chaotic.

Or evil. So I was thinkink LE. Loyal to the group, but likes to bend the rules when in sociaty. Not like we never act like that in real life.

'lock isn't alignment restricted. Um, best thing would be to concentrate on Wis/Dex, nd to try and toss at least a +1 bonus in CHA. Skills wise go Tumble/UMD/Diplo/Listen/Spot/. Grab Deflect arrows 2nd monk level. 1st 3 invocs go Beguiling influence, entropic warding, and Summon swarm. Switch out swarm at 6th for Spear. Go with fell flight for first lesser along with imp flight. Eventually, you'll be nigh untouchable. You won't be doing "much" damage, but hurting you will be a major pain in the ass. You'll also be able to turn most of your enemies neutral eventually.

I never said it was restricted. I just said that they are usually chaotic. Just like Wizards are usually lawful.

This shout to me: MAD MAD MAD.

With this character you need str, dex, con, wis and cha. your only posible dump stat is int.

Isn't the Warlock supposed to be any Chaotic Or Evil? Did that change since Aomplete Arcane?

Warlock with Chaos Monk could work pretty well though

actually, not so much. With Henious Blow+Eldrich Blast, you're getting enough of a bonus to damage that the few points of Str isn't significant. You can use Dex with your unarmed strike, after all. Charisma isn't too nessicary either, as long as you don't take invocations that need saves. So you can completely drop Int, and Cha and Str aren't too nessicary. With this build, I'd go:

dex-wis-con-cha-str-int

Do you mean Hideous Blow? I cannot find a listing of "Henious Blow" in either Complete Arcane or Complete Mage. But, seriously, depending on how many levels of monk you want to toss in here, it could end up as crap. Hideous Blow is a standard action, which means no flurry.

Why not just play a Warlock with Improved Unarmed Strike and Superior Unarmed Strike.. you get close to the unarmed damage of the monk, without all that crappy MAD-ness and without the multiclassing...

str is important for you for the following reasons.
1: it gives you a bonus to HIT and damage.
2: strength checks
3: Grappeling.
4: carring capacity.

My suggestion is to go with Weapon Finesse to limit the dependancy on stats.

Another idea would be to ditch Monk for Swordsage with the Unarmed combat variant it lists. It may be slower, but you've got other abilities you can pull off when you need it.

Hideous Blow sucks. It's a standard action to use, so you can only use it once per turn, and you can't even make it part of a Spring Attack. And it provokes attacks of opportunity.

That last point is the really annoying part. I can deal with it being a full round action. But it provokes an AoO? That has always bugged me... Does a Sneak Attack provoke an AoO...? No... neither should HB...
