gestalt + paragon class(es) [Archive] - Wizards Community

05-03-06, 01:01 PM doable or not? if doable, how?

i was originally thinking if someone wanted paragon levels, they could gestalt it with one of their desired classes, then at whatever level he's finished with paragon, he can start something else in place of paragon.

for example, if timmy wants to b an elf fighter/wizard with 3 levels of elf paragon, he goes either paragon/ftr or paragon/wiz for the first 3 levels, then replaces paragon with wiz or ftr, respectively.

but that's confusing, since he'll b like a 4th-level fighter & a 1st-level wizard.

then i was thinking, give him paragon for the first three levels (or possibly more in the case of half-elves & half-orcs), then he can start both of his gestalt classes when he's done with that.

then 4th-level timmy is paragon 3/wiz 1/ftr 1, which is a hell of a lot less confusing, but still kinda janky.

any suggestions?

05-03-06, 01:39 PM X paragon (i.e. Elf Paragon, Orc paragon, ect) is a class just like any other, it doesn't change the gestalt system at all.

So yes a character could go Elf Paragon 3/Wizard 1//Fighter 4 as a gestalt character and theres nothing wrong with that. Remember you can multiclass both sides of a gestalt character, and since paragon is just a class like any other, it doesn't change anything.

Likewise you could have a Monk3/Wizard 2//Fighter 4/Rogue 1, the two sides are distinct from one another and both are free to multiclass.

I would go with your 1st thought...

at level 4 timmy could be

1st level- par 1/Wiz 1
2nd level- par 2/Ftr 1
3rd level- par 3/Ftr 2
4th level- Ftr 3/Wiz 2

his final would be at level 4 hew would have 2 wizard level but cast as a 4th level wizard and 3 fighter levels along with the 3 paragon levels
