Just outta curiosity, how do PrCs factor into the use of gestalt characters?

Any help would be appreciated.

Prestige classes can be taken instead of normal classes, but only one PrC at a time. Also, the dual classes (Mystic Theurge, Eldritch Knight, etc) shouln't be allowe, as that's just what gestalting is.

Something I've found in my own experimentation, however, is that any class that grants + to spellcasting levels shouldn't be allowed to apply that to the class you're gestalting it with, as then you end up getting a caster level that hits epic much too early, and that brings along with it al sorts of messes as you need to haul out that book.

The system is kinda funky, but you Gestalt a PrC and a normal class together, but not 2 PrC’s. What I want to know is if you can Gestalt Racal Paragon levels. For half breeds and the like.

Actually, they can't hit 21st level caster until they hit 21st level. It says that gestalt character that have a multiple classes with the same class features accrue at the faster rate. Well if I took Ftr15/Wiz20/Archmage5, I'd still be casting as a 20th level wizard because +1 of existing class from the archmage and gaining a level in wiz is the same ability so they don't stack. It's like a player trying to say I'm going to paly a Wiz/Wiz, it says you can't do that.
