| Positronica01-03-08, 12:38 AM | So, I'm running a campaign in a custom setting. Not to go into too much detail, but my players are playing in a world were numerous divine aspects have been imprisoned. All access to the outside planes is cut off, and most of the aspects have been severly reduced in power. The lowest level aspects are weak enough that a strong party of level 14 characters could kill them. (Assuming the players can find an aspect and get pasts all its minions.) Anyways, in the next week, my players will probably be killing their first aspect, and upon doing so, I plan on giving them access to the custom prestige class below. http://uploadline.com/files/2722256/God_Touched_PRC.pdf.html If anyone is willing to critique this PRC for me, I wouldn't mind the feedback. Basically, what I want to know is... 1. Is there anything in there that you think is rediculously too strong or way underpowered? 2. If you were playing in a campaign and had access to this prestige class do you think it would be worth taking? As you answer, keep in mind that this is for a relatively high-powered campaign. (Lots of money, lots of loot, lots of enhanced/re-statted creatures, etc.) |

Some of the god touched feats seem kind of powerful, specifically the immunity ones and the ones with more then one effect. some of the feats that require sacrificing the domain spell may benefit with a more stronger effect for a shorter time. perhaps like a +3 for one minute instead of a +1 for 24 hours or something. the +2 to an ability one is the most broken and I would recommend slashing it in half or doing away with it entirely, or link it to the domain ability like a number of the other feats somehow. The domain ability seems to be the most underpowered ability of the class. if you wanted to improve that perhaps look at the divine champion prestige class for ideas, but if you power it up too much you will probably want to de-power other aspects of the class. All in all though, I don't think this prestige class will destroy the campaign (especially in a high power campaign) but it may eliminate the the weaknesses of certain classes, such as a wizards hp. alternately you could also just break up the domain class ability into another god touched feat and make it a pre req and do away with the entire class altogether. instead of the god touched level prereqs have some thing like a # of god touched feats needed to take the feat. If I had the choice of Choosing this class it would be a tough one. if i was a rogue or bard probably not, because of the skill hit, and as a fighter class I am not sure if the domain ability would be worth it. as a spell casting class it would probably be worth it but if i am already prestige classing it may not be worth taking the detour, since i usually get a pretty specific idea of what i want my character to be, especially at higher levels. I'd probably be more likely to pick up a god touched feat that was not associated to the prestige class then actually taking levels in the class. now if You did something like making everyone level up in the prestige class the instant they killed a divine aspect, then i may take more levels in the class since i alread have one. but alot of players may not like that. anyway hopefully this helped or gave you some ideas. |
