Now, since it's a city it doesn't 'feel' good to have everyone walking around in full plate and the like. So I'd like to make sure the system can support a party of mostly unarmored characters, against mostly unarmored NPCs, without breaking down into incredibly easy hits and power attack fests. At the same time I want to keep armor useful for those who choose to be conspicuous and use it, without making such people impossible to hit. I was thinking of usin UA's defense system, combined with the DR system presented in it. However, I was thinking perhaps take the D20 Modern approach by making the clas bonuses much lower, but making them stack with the (now halved due to DR) armor bonuses. Anyone try something similar? Or perhaps there's a better way to get what I want? |
