It's an idea I've been toying with. Dividing Necromany into two subschools - Positive and Negitave. Necromany (Positive) would be Conjuration (Healing), channeling Positive energy, and Necromany (Negitave) would be channeling negitave energy. It's always seemed a bit off to me that Healing is a conjuration...

Are there any systems that use this already?

None that I know of, but I love the idea. A bit of Black and White Necromancy? Very interesting.

In my games, Necromancies are spells which deal with life force. While there are evocations which can channel positive energy (sunburst and such), it takes Necromancy to channel positive energy to heal. But, I have also reduced the spell schools in my game to 4 (Conjuration, Enchantment, Evocation, and Necromancy), so many schools were greatly altered.

Well, I know most stories work that way... I think a few systems might too..

I mean, as it is, it makes no sense...

Cure disease? you need to kill the bacteria/virii/parasite/whatever causing it (or expunge the bad cells from the body, in cases of cancer etc).
Channeling life force? isnt that what necromancy does but in a different way?

Heck, for real interesting stuff, do away with the good and evil forces of chanelling.. a necromancer can channel life force... HOW he or she decides to chanell it... thats what counts. Heck, do away with clerics too... make necromancers instead... is the town healer secretly raising zombies? dun dun dun dun!

I've never seen positive and negitave evergy as being good and evil. Infact, I've got plans for a weird idea to do with positive and negitave energy, being that all normal creatures as we know as positive based; negitave energy based creatures are on a different material plane/set of planes. Undead are positive creatures, resisting the change to become negitave based creatures. Add in a couple of weird ideas about positive/negitave energy elementals, and then creatures with neither positive or negitave subtypes...
