Help! [Archive] - Wizards Community

07-01-04, 02:39 AM Now I just bought the book today, and I love it, but I am having a little trouble with one concept. Bloodlines. No, I get the concept, your a descendent, a step down from a half, a step up from a planetouched. But I don't understand how it works. The levels, the everything.

Please, could someone explain it to me.

Also, with the buying away ECL, what do you do if your DM plays only on story awards, and doesn't tell you your XP. Do you assume, at higher levels, that you're alright? Or do you discuss with the DM?

Actually, its detailed in the DMG, somewhere, as an easier way to control the characters. Story levels, instead of XP, make it easier to keep the characters together, level wise, and more meaningful when the gain a level, as well as make it easier to create dugeons, not worrying about the nittygritty of XP. The only problems with this system is that it makes the powers of XP costing spells much greater, and makes crafting items impossible (but considering few in my group care to make items, but merely customize through magic that doesn't cost XP... never mind), as well as making epic spells, truly epic. And, also, just quick note, what you did was flaming.... careful.

Also, I'm aware of all the other threads on the subjects at hand, but I'm looking for people to help me, not be referred to others long threads where I can't find what I need.
