| Demiurgos08-18-04, 09:47 PM | I'm playing in an outlaw aquatic campaign (yes, that's a pirate campaign, ye landlobbers!) and my GM has decided to run with gestalt characters. I've started a sea elf druid/rogue, but since we've only played once I'm allowed to change some stuff around. So I'm concidering changing the rogue part for a sorcerer or possibly bard. Right now, I can't see any good PrC's for my characters druid part, tho I might find some for my rogue part. But then my GM mentioned the option of making a PrC myself, and since we're playing with gestalt characters we have the option of making one bad-ass uber-PrC that takes up both "slots" each level. This is where you good folks come in. Have you got any good suggestions for a PrC or basic ideas for a PrC that could be cool? One thing I've thought about was, if it's at all possible, the option of mixing spell selection between a druid/sorcerer or a druid/bard, so I could cast druid spells using my sorcerer or bard slots and prepare metamagic sorcerer or bard spells in my druid slots. I'm no GM myself, so I don't know if this is even possible, or if it's too uber, even for a gestalt uber-PrC. Also, keeping my wild shape would be nice. Help? Thoughts? Comments? |

Get flanking, do sneak attack on all those attacks. Arrr. There doesn't seem to be any really good Druid prestige classes (you have to trade the wildshaping to get spellcasting, or spellcasting to get the wildshaping). The closest I can think of is the Warshaper in CW (and you give up the spellcasting). so, it's probably up to the Rogue part, and since Complete Adventurer (I think that's the name) hasn't come out yet, most of the 3.5 prestige classes for rogues have been warrior based. Other than the Temple Raider in CD, but that doesn't give you anything that you can't get from being a rogue. AFAIK, it's a house rule to put spells from one class into another. I thought, but don't have the book here, that you had to keep your class lists separate. That being said, Sorcerer/Druid or Druid/Wizard would be pretty cool. I'd probably do Sorc. Get Eschew Materials, and Natural Spell, and dump spells as a Dire Lion. A Druid/Bard, going for a real Celtic feel, might be neat. The city skills/abilities of the Bard might make a good complement to the Druid's outdoorsy stuff. Plus, you can buff yourself. Dunno about the perform skill as wildshaped critter. "The bear growls out a tune," doesn't seem quite right. As for gestalt prestige classes, I can't get my players to look at regular prestige classes, so I've not delved into it much. Most of the ones I've seen suggested are pretty much the two classes welded together, and in that case, the players might as well stick with the originals. |
