| Neveroth01-26-08, 07:50 AM | I was thinking about TWF and considering the first methods of fixing it that come to mind: 1) Merging all of the two-weapon fighting feats into one (regular, improved, greater, and eventually perfect). 2) Merging two-weapon fighting with two-weapon defense, for the handy AC bonus. Which is the better option? Would they make TWF overpowered in comparison to other styles? How about for rogues? Do you have any alternative ideas? While I'm here, I might as well add that I find both bard and monk to be severely underplayed and underpowered. If you know of a good way to make them more appealing to players, or have a reworked/improved version of the classes, I would love to hear about it. |

What do you see is the problem with TWF as is? We'd need to know this before any proper help can be rendered. The problem with TWF as is, is that it's inferior to both sword-and-shield and two-handed styles, while requiring a huge investment in feats in order to be effective. Not to mention the mad DEX requirements for the more advanced ones (at least if you use normal stats). I cringe. |
| Tequila_Sunrise01-27-08, 08:00 PM | The problem isn't that TWF is underpowered; the problem is that it is fine for rogues but underpowered for anyone else. So to fix it basically requires that you have two sets of mechanics: the standard one from the PHB and a separate one that doesn't allow a character to use extra damage with their second weapon.
