| Weenie09-16-04, 08:16 AM | I'm thinking about introducing this as a house rule: a counterspell attempt is a reaction (instead of a readied standard action) that costs you a move action in the next round. (Obviously inspired by the deflect ability of the SWRPG Jedi classes) Basically, most of my players agree that attempting to counterspell usually isn't worth the effort; if they get initiative, mages tend to go for the kill rather than trying to block the other guy. With this house rule, I can see more counterspell attempts, meaning more versatile spell preparation. Besides, it's a new way to reduce the power of primary spellcasters... sort of. What do you think? |
