| Duskey02-16-05, 03:00 AM | How about a house rule that all spellcasters (divine as well) who can cast summoning spell would need a summons list, with all the monsters they can summon. I'd say that they know a number of monsters equal to their ranks in a specific knowledge skill. Nature for Druids, Rangers (and clerics casting Nature's Ally form their animal domain) Arcana for Bards/Wizard/Sorcerors Religion for Clerics Additionally they can add one monster per rank in the Knowledge (the planes) skill This will represent that their studies in these knowledge skills have taught them about these monsters. What do you think? EDIT: It has come to my attention that this house rules has is in the Unearthed Arcana, though I elaborated it a bit here. |

The downside is that the interesting ones cripple the spells in terms of power and no rebalance is offered. Personally, I'm more of a fan of one monster per level, plus one extra monster per spellcasting level gained |
