For vVP/WP i thought that weapons like scythe would still take a little more out than say, a scimitar, even though with vp/wp they have the same threat range. ok, first what happens with the critical is you confirm it, once that happens you look at whats next. For scythe the thret range is 20/x4 so you roll the damage for your first roll, lets say 2d4+6 for an orc with 18 str, and you get 11 total. you subtract that from the targets wp, then you roll the rest, the 6d4+18, and, taking the average you get 33, you subtract that damage from the targets vp. This system represents how when using a scythe you get more damage taken when the enemy rolls to avoid some of the damage, and a critical hit to a goblin warrior finishes him quick, where as a scimitar would just hit more with the curve of the blade. I've never tried this system and i just thought of it about 5 minutes ago, i guess that is what we call an epiphany. |

Actually I thought about it when 1st trying to convert WP/VP over to DnD, I just didnt like the feel a whole lot, but I think it could work, I didnt come up with any mechanics issues that I can remember. |
