I was curious if anyone has incorporated any 3rd party rule sets into their D&D game, such as Conan?

I am planing on adapting many of the conan rules to use in my Dark Sun campaign and was wonder if anyone has already tried this and how it went.

Can you explain some of these rules?
I've never heard of Conan as a rules set...

Mongoose Publishing is responsible for that one.
Imagine a d20 fantasy setting optimized around having a barbarian heavy setting.

Ah, but no Stygians or Cimmerians (sp...)?

Anyway, was there a specific rule from there, or the whole (or most) rulesset from Conan?

I encorporate the Anime d20 ruleset into my game with a few tweaks of my own. I exclude feats, classes, base progressions, skills, the charisma and intelligence ability scores and keep the "attributes, defects and character points" mechanic. Additionally I play without using any visual reference for the battle field, so flanking and getting between an enemy and its target turn into "aid another" on attack and defense rolls respectively. We also don't use attacks of opportunity.

Because this reduces the amount of time spent refering to rules text and positioning PCs and NPCs to nothing our games travel at approximately the speed of light.

I replaced skills with "Unique Attribute: Background" (cost 1 point/rank). You choose one or multiple backgrounds such as theif, cop, computer technician, etc and receive a bonus of +4/rank to checks made to perform non-combat-activities related to this background.

It's a d20 rules set for the Conan setting, true to Howards works. Yes there are Stygians and Cimmerians, and every other piece from the Howard novels.

In many ways it's combat system is same as the core of D&D, but it has a few significant changes in combat that make it more detailed and yet it stays streamlined. Each class has two sets of defense, Parry and Dodge. Armor reduces damage and weapons have a penetration factor to overcome armor. Additional rules and mods for multiple attackers and being surrounded. I really like the added detail, and it doesn't slow the pace of combat significantly. The major problem that I am working on, and why I post this thread is that Magic in Conan is VERY different; bringing up questions on magic items and spells and whatnots.
