The Injury system has a problem with damage reduction and energy resistance. As written, Toughness is better than DR 5/- and 5/magic. Toughness gives you +1 to Fort saves to resist injury from all sources, magical, physical or from energy. DR 5/- or 5/magic only protect from physical damage, not spells or energy. Is it wiser to use damage reduction and energy reduction as normal, reducing the damage taken before counting the damage value? Or does it change anything?

Great Fortitude and other save boosting stuff aren't a problem, because injury is separate from saving throws in my game; it's based on your HD. Basically you have a new type of bonus and roll, the injury bonus, which is added to the injury roll in the same way as your attack bonus is added to your attack roll or saving throw added to a save.

Personally, you should subtract relevant DR from damage before you divide the remainder by 5.
