This is a topic I got on to from this thread (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?p=9598724#post9598724) that I started. Basically, I've been thinking about the recovery times from Exhaustion and Fatigue. Currently it takes 8 hours of rest to shake Fatigue, and 1 hour of rest to turn Exhaustion into Fatigue. This strikes me as a bit backwards - when you're more tired you take longer to recover.

So I'm thinking about requiring only 1 hour of rest to eliminate Fatigue, and the full 8 hours to turn Exhaustion into Fatigue.

Pros: this means it's possible to work yourself to the point of exhaustion, so hard that you have to sleep, or at least lie still, for an entire evening. I like this idea.

Cons: characters can be taken out of commission for an entire third of a day, while their companions-in-arms carry on through the dungeon or whatever. This is bad for gameplay.

Any comments? How would this effect gameplay for the players and their characters?
