Is this balanced? [Archive] - Wizards Community

What I want to know is this: would a gestalt wizard//sorcerer/ultimate magus be balanced if the UM's spellcasting is replaced with "+1 sorcerer CL" at each level?

02-17-07, 04:14 PM Sure, I suppose. So long as it doesn't get duel casting progression, it should be fine.

However, be advised that you're kind of missing the point of Gestalt. Neither side of your gestalt build gives you better HD, BAB, skills, or saves. All you get are more spells, and beyond low levels, you'll never run out of spells anyways, so it shouldn't matter.
