magicCheese 07-11-05, 02:10 PM	my sorc has his trusted item familer that he like to talk to, of corse ever one else see's him talking to his Murlynd’s Spoon. I chose to take this item pure and simplely because who the heck would steal a spoon. Now for my issue, as my spoon is getting stronger my DM is insisting that my Nystul’s Magic Aura that i am keeping cast on it is not going to hide it much. Now my quest is what is a better way to hide it ? I am sure there are higer spells i can cast on it to hide it from detection spells but i must be over looking them.
Arishem 07-11-05, 02:28 PM	How did your DM allow you to make a spoon into a Item Familiar? Must be a magic item ive never heard of.... To make an item into a Item Familiar it has to be: A Magic Item worth 2000gp or more. Usable by the character. (if its a weapon or armor or such) Must have a Permanent magical effect that the char can (and knows how) to use.
magicCheese 07-11-05, 03:42 PM	Murlynd’s Spoon (DMG p262) Creates grool for up to 4 humans per day. Cost 5,400 gp. But back to my origional question.

Magic Aura says If the targeted item’s own aura is exceptionally powerful (if it is an artifact, for instance), magic aura doesn’t work.So unless you are epic level your familiar should be nowhere near an artifact's power. I just love the vague rules on some of these spells. The problem is one DM may read "exceptionally powerful" and think 6th level, another might read exceptionally powerful and think 50th level because he's in love with the epic level handbook.
