| Krusk07-06-07, 12:48 AM | I would just do a bard with perform comedy, and perform acrobatics. |
| RobbyPants07-06-07, 10:03 AM | Yeah, without knowing what a jester is supposed to do that makes it unique, I'd have a hard time seeing it as anything other than a bard. Just wear goofy clothes, and cast Tasha's Uncontrolable Hideous Laughter (or whatever they call it in 3.5 now). |
| Jopustopin08-01-07, 02:09 AM | The real Jester class is way way better than the bard. Well I think anyway. It's the ultimate comic relief character. Some of it's abilities include: +1 to AC up to +5 Ac at level 20. Due to "shameless ability to project himself as nonchalant, goofy, and inept in even the deadliest struggle. He has bard like performance abilities due to perform (comedy) ranks. Fascinate, Inspiring Quip (When an opponent misses his attack the jester makes fun of him, haha you suck, hey you swing like an elf!, all allies get +2 to hit that target you're making fun of.) Taunt (Basically like the Goad feat, they will run through attacks of opportunity to get your ass, ...Look at that beautiful half orc.. I mean half elf?... half something what the hell are you?) calming performance, Buffoonery (single target looses dexterity bonus), Vicious Lampoon area affect 60 feet everyone get's -2 to hit. Vexing Dialogue perform vs concentration inturrupts spellcasting. Scathing wit, demoralizes oppontent they get a minus to attack and saving throws = to charisma modifer of jester. Sorry about the typo's I'm using a left handed keyboard. Bonus feats deflect arrow and catch arrow. Can use his jester's antics on intellegent undead at tenth level. They get a couple of spells kinda like the bard. |
| Thurbane08-01-07, 09:06 AM | I thinnk the Bard and Beguiler have it covered without needing another class. Just my 2 cents. |
| trapspringer08-02-07, 04:14 PM | I'm a big fan of variant class features, and that looks like what this is callin' for. Check out UA's bard variants. There's one in there that applies penalties to the bad guys. |
| GEEKAZOID08-12-07, 10:55 PM | I think the Jester from Dragon is great. Go for it! Why bother tweaking the bard when the Jester is already a bard variant. All the tweaking is done and it has some unique abilities not found in core bard. I'm thinking gnome! |
